I must admit I am appalled at the subject of this letter. Never in my 55 years have I witnessed such a blatant disregard for someone doing the job they were hired and get paid to do. I am speaking of the Philipsburg State Police.
I live in the small town of Unionville.
We have approximately 147 houses and one that has no regard for the law or the town ordinances, yet when we ask Borough Council or the police to uphold the laws the rest of us abide by, we are the ones that come under scrutiny.
For instance, my wife was returning home from work around 10 p.m.
She stopped to talk to some friends on her way home and was confronted by an individual that has been causing problems for quite some time. A verbal battle occurred and, in the end, the woman threw iced tea on my wife and in her car.
My wife proceeded home and called the police.
After approximately two hours, the police arrived. After they interviewed the parties involved, we were told not to drive on a public street that goes by their house and brings us to our driveway or we would incur a $400 fine.
To add injury to insult, the officer told my wife to tell our friends not to use the same public street.
I have to admit that as I write this I am amazed. It leads one to wonder is our judicial system this broken?
