Vote for Taylor
By now it’s obvious to many that the U.S. Congress is dysfunctional. Indeed, this is unquestionably the least productive Congress in our history. The problem doesn’t seem to be purely ideological. Likely some of the members of Congress are in a form of “political lockstep.”
Fortunately, there may be a solution to this problem. We the people could elect legislators who would be willing — and able — to seek understanding of our current problems and then be willing to try to solve them. Obviously that would require thoughtful and committed negotiation — by all.
One such candidate, in my opinion, is Kerith Strano Taylor, an intelligent, compassionate family lawyer who regularly negotiates amicable settlements among family members. She also provides legal services to many foster children. And, as the president of her local school board, she is a strong supporter of public education.
During the recent government shutdown, Strano Taylor was forced to deal with a wide variety of problems and issues — many of which were directly related to the important services she provides. Indeed, an active duty member of the armed services asked her whether or not he would be paid because of the shutdown.
That inappropriate shutdown was partly why Strano Taylor decided to run for Congress.
This November, we’ll have an opportunity to elect someone who will work hard for our district and will negotiate meaningful and beneficial solutions to our varied problems. I’m convinced Strano Taylor will always be mindful that she represents us — not some outside entity.
