John Groenveld’s letter cannot go unchallenged. Yes he has the right to pour forth his spewage and visceral dislike of Rep. G.T. Thompson, but his comments regarding President Obama’s “delivering on his promise to transform our country ... with electing a new people via extra (illegal) amnesty” are irrational, dangerous and destructive. The South Border Region of the United States is in chaos and on the verge of being overtaken by organized crime. Drug cartels are now in total control in many areas of Mexico and even in some parts of our country.
The Agua Prieta Cartel is heavily involved in smuggling drugs, sex trafficking and a host of other illicit activities. They have corrupted not only many Mexican Federal Police but also thousands of U.S. citizens including police and a judge. They gained control of three major banks in the U.S., laundering millions of dollars. This cartel has established an armed-force capable of intimidating people on both sides of the border.
Due to President Obama’s complete unwillingness to lead on this issue, the border areas of Texas, Arizona and New Mexico are sinking into chaos. This is a warning to all American citizens the audacity and brazen boldness of the Cartel’s disregard for U.S. law is widespread and that it now affects our national security and sovereignty. The situation is desperate and the border is out of control.
Presently thousands of American citizens deal directly or indirectly with the drug cartels.
The cartels hire some as assassins; some serve as soldiers; some sit on the top of Arizona and New Mexico mountains and warn drug and sex traffickers about the movements of our Border Patrol. Others store, transport and sell drugs and/or help illegal immigrants enter the U.S. The cartels know an American response is unlikely, and this explains how the violent and dangerous situation is spreading into our border states.
If this is Groenveld’s idea of a delivered promise from our President, is it no wonder our nation is more divided than ever?
