I am amazed at the foolishness of the Penn State trustees.
The incoming governor and the Senate majority leader ask (not demand) the board put off a vote so the governor could have an opportunity to understand the issues.
In response, the board — in a show of arrogance not seen since the days of Graham Spanier — chose to ignore the requests.
In a couple months, they will send President Eric Barron to Harrisburg with a hand out seeking state funding and wonder why there is a deaf ear turned toward the request.
Spanier saw state support drop by $100 million a year as a result of such arrogance toward the General Assembly and governor’s office — a brilliant move by the trustees.
How did we get such arrogant people running the university?
