The Benjamin Plum Farm in Boalsburg is poised to become a unique and very needed addition to Happy Valley.
Through the work of Bella Bregar and her visionary supporters, the project will provide a living, learning and working space for people with autism and intellectual difficulties to grow and thrive.
But in order for this to happen, they must raise a tremendous amount of money to purchase the 70-acre farm.
By donating, we are providing the much-needed next step to enable many people with special needs to become more self-sufficient, to have a vibrant and interesting social life, develop talents and interests and make lifelong friends in a place brimming with hope and opportunity.
The plans and dreams include farming and providing fresh produce to the community, supplying desserts baked at the farm to local restaurants and raising and caring for animals from chickens to horses.
Future plans also exist for cultivating entrepreneurial opportunities as talents and passions are developed by those who spend time with the mentors and volunteers at the farm.
The nonprofit Benjamin Plum Farm would be a meaningful part of our community for years to come.
Please consider donating, in your name or as a generous holiday gift, at www.benjaminplumfarm.org.
