We are proud and fully support Penn State President Eric Barron’s “hands up, don’t shoot” gesture in support of student protesters last week.
His guts in raising his hands for all to see bodes well for not only Penn State but State College.
He lives his beliefs, setting an example for us all. How many other college presidents or mainstream political leaders have raised their hands in disgust at the recent grand jury actions?
Peaceful student demonstrations last week serve the community in highlighting the concerns of minorities who continue to be subject to systematic racism in our country.
We raise our hands in support of their efforts in hope that the spirit of Martin Luther King Jr. is again ignited so that all Americans can pursue life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness free of harassment with equal justice for all.
