In 2013 (the most recent year for which full data are available), 41,149 suicides were reported, making suicide the 10th leading cause of death for Americans.
In that year, someone in the country died by suicide every 12.8 minutes. These are more than just startling numbers — they represent the loss of our family members, friends, neighbors and co-workers.
Please join the central Pennsylvania chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention for our ninth annual Out of the Darkness Walk on Sunday at Sidney Friedman Park in State College.
Together we can walk to support survivors of suicide loss and raise funds for research, prevention and educational programs. For more information, please email email@example.com.
