There is only one possible vice presidential candidate for Donald Trump — his mirror image here in the world vanity to which I am now writing.
Although this immense mirror could only be destroyed by ending the world and all of us, growing up, learn to so appear. Nonetheless, all of us must “be” before we appear. In telling silence we must each in calm freedom stand our ground. And here the true statesman stands as well. Here Abraham Lincoln walked at midnight.
The images of the media for all their fascination are utterly make believe and secondary by comparison. And I fear Mr. Trump, by appearing so very hard here, may have lost his soul. I know this, because, writing this, I feel the same temptation in myself.
