Micha Hancock’s big run from the service line helped the Penn State women’s volleyball team race away from Indiana 25-18, 25-19, 25-8 Thursday night.
Hancock rolled off four aces in the match, and three during a 9-0 run to open the final set in the victory. The sophomore setter also had four blocks and gave out 38 assists in helping the No. 5 Nittany Lions (11-2, 2-1 Big Ten) to a .507 hitting night.
Megan Courtney led the hitting attack with 15 kills on 20 error-free swings for a career-best .750 night. Deja McClendon added 13 kills while hitting .500 and getting 15 digs and four blocks, Dominique Gonzalez added 11 digs, Katie Slay posted five blocks and Nia Grant collected four blocks.
The Hoosiers (8-6, 0-3) were held to a .071 hitting night, were outblocked 11.5-2, beaten in kills 45-26 and digs 33-20.
Penn State visits Purdue on Saturday.
