No. 2 Penn State began a tough road trip with a 25-23, 27-25, 25-16 sweep of No. 14 Wisconsin on Friday night.
The victory extended the Nittany Lions’ win streak to 14 games and was their 18th sweep of the season. Penn State (23-2, 14-1 Big Ten) maintained its conference lead of one game over No. 9 Nebraska, and visits No. 11 Minnesota on Saturday night.
Megan Courtney had a big night with a match-high 15 kills to go with 11 digs. Deja McClendon followed with eight kills, a match-high 15 digs and five blocks. Ariel Scott and Nia Grant each added seven kills, Katie Slay posted eight blocks and Micha Hancock had 32 assists, 12 digs and a pair of aces while guiding the team to a .220 hitting night.
Ellen Chapman’s 12 kills and Dominique Thompson’s 10 kills led the Badgers (19-8, 8-7), who hit .129, were outblocked 12-4 and trailed in kills 45-37.
