Former Bellefonte athlete Seth Tressler is off to a hot start with the Mansfield University baseball team.
The Mounties are 9-2 and have won eight straight games as they wrapped up their Florida trip.
Tressler led them to a 10-9 comeback win over Hillsdale College at Jack Russell Stadium in Clearwater, Fla., by going 3 for 4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. In his last four games he is 12 for 19 with a .667 on-base percentage and a .947 slugging percentage.
The production led Tressler to be named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Player of the Week on Monday.

For the spring he’s hitting .409, second the team, leads the team with 18 hits and has scored 12 runs while driving in 15. He also has four doubles and a homer.
Justin Taylor (Bald Eagle Area, California, Pa.) is hitting .300 with three hits including a double, and four RBIs. On the mound he’s 3-1 with a 3.46 ERA. In 26 innings he has allowed 24 hits and 11 runs, 10 earned, while walking eight and striking out 16. Cal is 8-5.
Brandon Myers (Philipsburg-Osceola, Slippery Rock) is hitting .308 with four hits and five RBIs. Slippery Rock is 10-4.
Luke Curtis (P-O, Pitt) is 0-0 with a 3.18 ERA. In 5 2/3 innings he has allowed six hits, two earned runs, walked one and struck out eight. Pitt is 7-10.
Drew Bryan (P-O, VMI) has a .273 batting average with four runs scored, three hits including a double. VMI is 10-9.

Molly Love (State College, UNC-Wilmington) finished third in the pole vault, clearing 10 feet, 8 inches, in the UNCW Seahawk Invitational.
Brian Scholly (State College, Juniata) was named to the Landmark Conference All-Sportsmanship team, which recognizes one athlete from each sport at each member school who has an impact through fair play. He was also named to the conference’s Academic Honor Roll. A student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 GPA to be eligible for that honor.
Kate McDonald (State College, Juniata) has been named to the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll, which requires at least a 3.20 GPA, and also was named D3Hoops.com Second-Team All-Region. She earned all-region honors for the third straight season.
