Penn State alums Drew Adams and Greg Gurenlian helped the United States lacrosse team go 5-0 in group play at the FIL World Championships, finishing the round with an 18-5 win over the Iroquois.
Penn State coach Jeff Tambroni is the team’s offensive coordinator. Team USA is averaging 17 goals per game to lead the tournament.
Adams, a 2009 grad, has played in three games and made two starts. He has a 4.41 goals-against average and .600 save percentage. Gurenlian, a 2006 grad, has won 44 of 52 faceoffs in addition to picking up 26 ground balls.
