Brian Pelka won his 100th career game as he fired Howard to a 6-3 triumph against Lemont in a regular-season finale in the Centre County Baseball League on Wednesday.
Pelka allowed three runs over six innings as he reached the milestone. He struck out seven and walked three.
Zach Moerschbacher gave Lemont a 3-1 lead with a two-run double in the fourth, but the Hawks got Pelka the win with a three-run fifth. Gage Gardner led off the inning with a double and scored on Scott Zuback’s RBI double. Dan Cole also smacked a RBI double as Hawks also took advantage of two errors.
Zuback and Cole each had a single and double to lead Howard. Derek Van Horn had two singles for the Ducks.
Never miss a local story.
