Get ready to rumble.
The Penn State wrestling team will host Iowa at 2 p.m. Feb. 8 at the Bryce Jordan Center, the athletic department announced Wednesday.
The four-time defending Big Ten and NCAA champions will also wrestle Virginia Tech (Dec. 19) in Rec Hall and travel to Oklahoma State (Feb. 15) and Pittsburgh (Nov. 21) in nonconference duals.
A home dual against the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Jan. 25 further strengthens Penn State’s home schedule. The Rec Hall slate also includes Big Ten Conference duals against Indiana (Jan. 9) and Purdue (Jan. 18).

The Nittany Lions will face new Big Ten Conference members Maryland and Rutgers on the road. Penn State travels to Maryland for a 7 p.m. dual Dec. 11 and to Rutgers on Jan. 16.
Penn State will wrestle Big Ten duals at Ohio State (Jan. 11), Michigan (Jan. 30) and Michigan State (Feb. 1).
The Nittany Lion Open returns to the schedule Dec. 7 at Rec Hall after a one-year hiatus. And Penn State will make its annual New Year’s trip to Chattanooga, Tenn., for the Southern Scuffle Tournament.
Penn State set an NCAA attendance record last season when the Nittany Lions beat Pittsburgh 28-9 in front of 15,996 fans at the Bryce Jordan Center. They’ll try to break that mark against bitter rival Iowa.
Since taking over the Penn State program before the 2009-10 season, coach Cael Sanderson has gone 2-3 against Tom Brands’ Hawkeyes. The two programs have combined to win the past seven NCAA team championships, with Penn State winning the past four.
Penn State will open its season Nov. 9 with a 2 p.m. Rec Hall dual against Lehigh. Clarion and Rider will visit Rec Hall on Nov. 22 and Feb. 22, respectively.
