Former Bald Eagle Area standout Mary Pillot has been a key factor in a 4-6 start for the Penn State-DuBois women’s basketball team.
Pillot, a sophomore, scored 17 points in a 70-58 loss to Penn State Mount Alto on Saturday as DuBois closed the early portion of its schedule.
Pillot, who has been the team’s leading scorer in the last two games, is averaging 16.6 points per game and has made 28 3-point baskets.

Mitchell Port (Bellefonte, Edinboro) is now 15-0 after posting two wins over the weekend in the Grapple in the Garden. He pinned his 141-pound opponent from Cornell in 4:05 to give Edinboro an 11-3 lead, but the Fighting Scots couldn’t hold it and fell 23-14 as Cornell coach Rob Koll, a State College grad, picked up his 250th coaching win. Edinboro is 6-3. Port, ranked No. 2 in the nation at his weight, added a 7-2 decision during a 19-18 win against Lehigh later in the day. It gave him 111 career wins to move into a tie for 19th place on Edinboro’s all-time wins list. A.J. Schopp, an ex-Tyrone standout, is 11-0 at 133 for the Scots after the two meets at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Nick Shawley (Bellefonte, Clarion) has a 2-6 record in three open tournaments.
Liz Wortman (Bellefonte, Juniata) averages 2.2 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists. Juniata is 2-7.
Dennis Fisher (BEA, Juniata) is averaging 2.8 points and 2.6 rebounds. Juniata is 5-6.
Brittany Butterworth (BEA, Pitt-Greensburg) has a 4.2 scoring average and a 1.6 rebound average. She has 17 assists and 11 steals. Greensburg is 4-5.
Jenna Altomare (State College, Kutztown) averages 3.0 points per game. She has five rebounds, two assists and three steals. Kutztown is 4-5.
Alexis Frank (Bellefonte, PSU-Altoona) has a 1.8 scoring average with two rebounds and two steals. Altoona is 2-7.
Bryan Sekunda (State College, Stony Brook) is averaging 3.8 points and 1.0 rebounds and has a steal and two blocks. Stony Brook is 6-6.
Taylor Allison (State College, St. Francis) has a 1.9 scoring average with six rebounds, six assists and three steals. St. Francis is 1-8.
Kaitlin Miller (BEA, PSU-Fayette) is averaging 9.0 points and 9.0 rebounds. She also aveages 2.4 blocks per game. Fayette is 4-6.
Kyle Kanaskie (State College, Truman State) has an 8.3 scoring average with 29 rebounds, 26 assists and 18 steals. Truman State is 7-2.
