Recap: Portland vs. Minnesota

Andre Miller scored 21 points to lead the Portland Trail Blazers in a 116-93 rout of the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Rose Garden.

The Blazers have now beaten the T'Wolves nine consecutive times and eight straight at home.

LaMarcus Aldridge notched 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Blazers, who won their second in a row. Travis Outlaw scored 19 off the bench, while Jerryd Bayless had 12 in a reserve role. Greg Oden finished with 11 points and four boards.

Nathan Jawai gave 16 points for the T'Wolves, who have dropped six in a row since a season-opening win over the Nets. Ryan Gomes added 15 points and Jonny Flynn 11 in defeat. Al Jefferson and Corey Brewer had 12 points apiece, with Jefferson adding 10 boards.

"I just wanted to get the win and improve as a group and individually," said Jawai. "We just need to make each other better and keep trying...We're a team that doesn't give up."

The Blazers opened a 33-24 lead after the first quarter and increased that to 62-45 at the break.

Oden's dunk and Miller's putback layup gave the Blazers a 76-54 cushion with 6:22 left in the third.

"We're just trying to get a rhythm," said Miller. "The main thing is that we don't want to dig ourselves a hole early. Hopefully everybody is developing a sense of urgency."

Gomes' layup and four points from Brewer closed the T'Wolves' gap to 15 points late in the stanza, but Portland closed out the third on a 14-4 run to assume a 92-67 advantage headed to the final 12 minutes.

The home team's lead never dipped below 21 points in the fourth.
