Four gymnasts joined the Penn State program on Wednesday.
Connecticut native Alissa Bonsall, Maryland native Lauren Bridgens, Virginia native Kourtney Chinnery and Texas native Ava Lorein Verdeflor all signed their National Letters of Intent, the program announced in a press release Wednesday.
Bonsall, Bridgens and Chinnery have all competed at Junior Olympic Nationals. Verdeflor competed at the 2015 World Gymnastics Championships.
“Three years of hard work has finally come to fruition with the signing of these four outstanding young women today,” Penn State coach Jeff Thompson said in the release. “The level of athletic ability that they each possess will have an immediate impact on our women’s gymnastics program. The amount of high level competition experience this group possesses will help us continue to add to our tradition of excellence.”
