Notes: The Spinners find themselves in the middle of a tightly-packed Stedler Division. The Boston Red Sox affiliate trails Vermont by two games. Connecticut and Tri-City are three and 3 ½ games, respectively, behind the Lake Monsters. Lowell‘s roster includes multiple power hitters. They lead the league with 36 homers. Seth Schwindenhammer leads the team with eight, Travis Shaw has six and Boss Moanaroa has five. Wes Freeman has become the Spikes’ top power hitter, hitting four homers since last Friday. Four of Freeman’s five homers are solo shots. The Red Sox recently added infielder Matt Gedman to the Spinners’ roster. Gedman is the son of former Red Sox and Spinners hitting coach Rich Gedman. This is Dodson’s first start since being permanently assigned to the Spikes’ roster. Dodson, who suffered a hand injury at full-season West Virginia, made three rehabilitation starts with the Spikes before being transferred to their roster Friday.
