After a fine showing on Saturday afternoon, Penn State is in sole possession of first place following the second round of the 15-team Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at Blackthorn.
The Nittany Lions were 11-under as a team on the round, giving them a four-stroke tournament lead on second-place Kent State.
JD Dornes led Penn State’s efforts, shooting 4-under par, propelled by four mid-round birdies. He is now 12th in the individual standings.
Meanwhile, Geoff Vartelas and Chris Houston each shot a 69 on Saturday and share a team-leading seventh-place positioning.
Charlotte’s Victor Wiggins leads all golfers with a tournament score of 8-under.
The teams will wrap up the tourney with 18 holes on Sunday.
