Roman Catholic guard Tony Carr announced his commitment to Penn State at his high school Monday.
Carr, a four-star recruit, is ranked the No. 1 recruit in Pennsylvania in the Class of 2016 by 247Sports and ESPN. He is also ranked 52nd in his class nationally by ESPN.
Carr chose Penn State over Maryland, Providence, Southern Methodist and Temple. He was named the Pennsylvania Sports Writers Class AAAA Player of the Year and helped Roman Catholic capture the state championship with a 62-45 win over Martin Luther King in March. The 6-foot-4 guard scored 14 points in the title game.
Carr joins Roman Catholic teammate Nazeer Bostick and Oak Hill Academy’s Joe Hampton in Penn State’s Class of 2016, which is now ranked seventh in the country, according to 247Sports.
