Penn State’s Kyle Carter and Jesse James have each been named to the watch list for the John Mackey Award.
The Nittany Lions join Oklahoma and Oregon as the only programs with multiple players ont he 40-man list for the award, given to the nation’s top tight end.
James, a junior, is Penn State’s top returning receiver in both yards and receptions. He had 25 catches for 333 yards and three touchdowns last season.
Carter, also a junior, tied for third on the team last season with 18 catches for 222 yards with one score.
The award is named for former Baltimore Colt and Hall of Famer John Mackey.
