Penn State’s Laura Bowman and Celine Whitlinger received College Hockey America honors after helping the Nittany Lions sweep No. 6 Mercyhurst last weekend.
Bowman collected her second Player of the Week award this season, while Whitlinger picked up Goaltender of the Week honors for the second-straight week and fourth time this year.
In a 5-3 victory in the series finale, Bowman recorded the program’s second hat trick. She also had an assist on Amy Petersen’s goal in a 2-1 win in the opener. Bowman leads team with 23 points (11 goals, 12 assists).
Whitlinger made 36 saves in the opener as she improved her record to 6-4-0. She has won three straight.
