Jordan Tyler scored in the second overtime frame to complete No. 17 Penn State’s 2-1 comeback win over Michigan State on Sunday.
Drew Klingenberg scored the first Nittany Lion goal early in the second half after the team trailed at halftime. Goalkeeper Andrew Wolverton made a career-high nine saves for the win.
The Nittany Lions (9-3-1, 4-0) strengthened their lead in the Big Ten, and need either one win or two ties in their remaining two conference games to wrap up the title.
Mike Robinson set up Tyler for the game-winner 53 seconds into the second extra period, while Owen Griffith set up Klingenberg.
Ryan Thelen’s free kick found the head of Tim Kreutz for the Spartan goal in the 10th minute.
Penn State hosts Northwestern next Sunday.
