Penn State’s 15-year reign atop the Big Ten is finished.
The Nittany Lions’ record run ended with a 3-2 double overtime loss against Nebraska on Sunday. Penn State dropped to 12-5-1 overall, 6-4 in the Big Ten. The four losses in league play is the most in program history.

Whitney Church scored less than two minutes into the half to gives Penn State the lead. The Cornhuskers (14-3-1, 9-1) bounced back to grab the lead on as Jordan Jackson (74:27) and Jaycie Johnson (82:43) scored.

Trailing with less than two minutes left in regulation, Maya Hayes’ header tied it to send the contest into overtime.
After a scoreless first extra period, Johnson won it with an unassisted goal, running coast-to-coast and beating Penn State goalie Britt Eckerstrom to the lower left corner.
Eckerstrom finished with five saves, while Emma Stevens had seven for the Cornhuskers.
Penn State travels to Michigan State on Friday in its regular-season finale.
