Penn State’s record-setting goalkeeper added another honor to his soccer resume on Monday.
Andrew Wolverton was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on the heels of two more shutouts.
The senior keeper was in goal for a 2-0 win against Bucknell and a 1-0 victory over Rutgers last week.
Wolverton leads the Big Ten and ranks second nationally in goals-against average (0.21) and save percentage (.946), while posting a 9-0 record with eight shutouts. He owns the program record with 31 career shutouts.
Penn State (10-0-1), the only undefeated team remaining in the NSCAA Division I top 25 poll, visits Maryland on Sunday.
