BELLEFONTE — Penn State special teams player and backup defensive back Knowledge Timmons was placed into Centre County’s Accelerated Rehabilitative Dispostion program Thursday morning that will enable Timmons to eventually have criminal charges against him dismissed and his record expunged.
Timmons was charged in October with misdemeanor counts of criminal trespass and disorderly conduct for his actions following a fight he was not involved in at the HUB-Robeson Center on campus. Police said as many as 15 football players beat and stomped a man attending a fraternity party there Oct. 7. Three players, defenstive linemen Chris Baker and Phil Taylor and linebacker Navorro Bowman are facing trial in the assault.
Timmons however was charged for conduct after the alleged beating, when he was swearing loudly and overturning furniture while looking for his cell phone, according to court documents. Timmons also refused to leave when told to do so by Penn State police, court documents state.
Centre County Judge Thomas King Kistler placed Timmons on ARD for 12 months, essentially probation, and ordered him to serve one day of community service. If Timmons completes the program and is not arrested again, the charges will be dismissed and his record cleared of the arrest.
