PSU assistant coach takes spot in Virginia

Penn State men’s basketball assistant coach Hilliary Scott has accepted the head coaching position at Division III Lynchburg (Va.), the school announced on its Web site Thursday.

Scott, 36, was an assistant under Ed DeChellis for five years at Penn State and five years at East Tennessee State. The Lynchburg native, who graduated from Roanoke College, takes over a program that was 3-22 last season.
