Never miss a local story.
What happened: Look to BEA’s defense first. It allowed just 94 total yards against a team that posted up 32 points a week ago. And it finished with six sacks and eight tackles for loss.
What happened: The Little Lions ran away with this one right out of the gate. It was 45-6 at halftime — and even one of State College’s running backs admitted he didn’t expect that. “I don’t even know what to say,” Tristen Lyons said.
What happened: The Rams took an early 6-0 lead — but it was all Clearfield after that. The Bison had eight plays that went for at least 20 yards, as they finished with 596 yards of offense.
What’s happening: The game was much closer than the score indicated, but special teams did Bellefonte in. Coach Shanon Manning, who also oversees the unit, took responsibility afterward: “(T)hat’s on me.”
What happened: SJCA was without its starting quarterback, and the backup was injured in the second quarter. The game was essentially over by halftime but coach Murray Fetzer chose to look on the bright side: “One positive: We scored and never gave up.”
