P-O thumps Clearfield
CLEARFIELD Philipsburg-Osceola’s Matt Johnson set the tone with a fall in the first bout at 152 pounds, as the Mounties cruised past Clearfield wrestling 42-31 Tuesday night.
Three other P-O wrestlers also finished with falls, including Nicholas Bryan (106), Chase Chapman (120) and Brandon Anderson (195).
Penns Valley rallies for win
CLEARFIELD With two starters sick or injured, Penns Valley fell behind early but rallied Tuesday for a 46-42 win over Clearfield.
Hannah Montminy guided her team with 15 points, and Jordan Andrus added 11 in the winning effort.
The Lady Rams trailed 14-6 after the first quarter but outscored the competition 17-6 in the third.
BEA falls to Tyrone
WINGATE No Lady Eagle reached double digits in scoring in the 51-26 loss to Tyrone.
Mariah Veneziano paced Bald Eagle Area with eight points.
CCCA wins in low-scoring affair
CLEARFIELD Centre County Christian Academy shut out Clearfield Alliance in the first half in a low-scoring, unusual 17-7 victory.
Cassandra Poorman single-handedly outscored her opponents with a game-high eight points.
P-O falls to Huntingdon
HUNTINGDON Despite double digits from three player, the Lady Mounties were not able to hold off Huntingdon in a 70-61 loss.
Halle Herrington led P-O in scoring with 30 points, while Lacee Potter and Loryn Hughes posted 11 and 10, respectively.
CLEARFIELD Octavio Mallare paced Centre County Christian Academy with 20 points in its 48-28 win over Clearfield Alliance.
Chad Weaver added 15 points in the winning effort.
