The skinny: Dubin is working with 25 wrestlers, the biggest roster in his four-year tenure. After forfeiting multiple weights, the Little Lions might be in a position to fill all 14 spots if some wrestlers decide to increase or cut weight. ...Kauffman has added more than 20 pounds since qualifying for the state tournament at 106 pounds. He anchors a stretch from 113 to 145 that will be expected to produce the bulk of the team’s dual meet and tournament points. …State College joins the Mid-Penn Conference this season. The league boasts several District 3 powers including Central Dauphin and Cumberland Valley. State College opens the Mid-Penn schedule at Carlisle next Wednesday. The Little Lions are also members of the Big 7.
Coach Dubin says: “It’s been a real exciting preseason because of how many kids in our room have two or three years of experience. We’re not teaching them how to wrestle. They are able to get right into our wrestling room and compete. We have a lot more leadership. It’s exciting. It should be a good year.”
