Bald Eagle Area prevailed in another heated meeting with rival Bellefonte on the volleyball court Thursday night.
The Lady Eagles were able to hold off the Lady Red Raiders at the end of each set for the 25-21, 25-22, 25-15 win.
“I’ve been a head coach at either school for the last 13 years, and I still don’t understand it,” BEA coach Larry Campbell said of the rise of emotions in the match. “The crowd got a little into it. We need to do a better job controlling our emotions.”
Jessica Bressler had another solid all-around night for the Lady Eagles (5-4, 5-2 Mountain League) with six kills, seven aces and 10 assists. Chelsea Eisenhuth had five kills, Nicole Doroschenko added four kills, eight digs and a pair of blocks, Kyrra Miller led with three blocks, Regan Dyke delivered three aces and Sarah Torres had eight digs.
“Our serving has really improved,” Campbell said. “The kids hit their targets, they aimed small and they put teams at a disadvantage for their side-outs.”
The Lady Red Raiders (2-6) were led by Jordan Carr’s 11 kills and two aces, Shelby Courts’ three digs and two aces, Erin Pugh’s three digs and Lexi Wetzler’s nine blocks.
