Central scored eight runs in the fourth inning and rolled to a 20-10 win over Bald Eagle Area on Friday in high school baseball action.
Eight Dragons players drove in runs in the win. Central’s Nick Hoenstine went 4-for-5 with five RBIs to lead the offensive outburst. Bald Eagle Area’s Jeff Bennett pitched three innings to take the loss.
The Eagles (0-1) took the lead with four runs in the second inning and went into the bottom of the fourth leading 6-5. The Dragons (1-0) scored eight runs to take control and later added five more in the sixth, clinching the win on a three-run triple by Hoenstine.
“We gave them some opportunities with errors,” Bald Eagle Area coach Jim Gardner said. “And Central’s a team that will absolutely thrive on those mistakes.”
