Coach Kim-Li Kimel said passing was key in State College’s 25-13, 25-12, 25-12 victory over Spring Grove on Saturday.
“They did well very staying low on unforced errors,” Kimel said of the Little Lions. “We were passing the ball well, so we’re very pleased with that.”
Parker Thompson led the effort from the back row with a team-high 20 digs.
The Little Lions had several different lineups which provided many contributors on the offensive end. Clark Handel led State College with nine kills followed by Deniz Demirci’s eight and Jeff Podolski’s six. Demirci also led State College with five aces. Andrew Groves and Noah Christie had 17 assists apiece for State College (3-4).
“We got a lot of different looks which is good,” Kimel said of the lineups. “We’ve got to be making some tough lineup decisions soon as we bare down on our big invitational.”
