St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy’s struggles continued with its sixth straight loss Friday night.
The Wolves didn’t get on the board until there were 85 seconds left in the fourth quarter of their 52-16 loss to Chestnut Ridge. St. Joseph’s first score came on a safety. Wolves quarterback Michael Kresovich then threw two touchdown passes in the final 20 seconds. He found Charlie Ross from 12 yards out for the first touchdown and hit Mike Jabco for a 40-yard strike on the final play of the game.
St. Joseph’s was overmatched from the start, as Chestnut Ridge (6-1) built a 38-0 halftime lead.
Lions quarterback Tyler Wiley completed 10 of 14 passes for 139 yards and three touchdowns. Wiley also had a rushing touchdown.
Kresovich finished 6 of 21 for 143 yards and threw two interceptions.
Ross made two catches for 84 yards, and Jabco hauled in three passes for 50 yards. Garrett Walters led St. Joseph’s in rushing with 31 yards on eight carries.
St. Joseph’s (1-6) will face Line Mountain on the road Friday at 7 p.m.
