St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy earned its first win of the season, racing away from Philipsburg-Osceola 64-33 on Thursday night.
The Wolves (1-2) built a 29-14 lead by halftime and never let the Mounties rally.
“We were pleased with our focus and effort level,” St. Joe’s coach Richard Ciambotti said. “We spoke before the game about how execution was a key to our success and I felt we executed our game plan very well tonight. Our guys understand we still have a long way to go, but we were happy to win to validate a lot of hard work the past few weeks.”
Stephen Beattie’s 25 points, including five 3-pointers, and Mike Jabco’s 18 paced St. Joe’s.
Trent Herrington’s 11 points and Lewis Jones’ nine led the Mounties (0-3), who host Bald Eagle Area on Friday.
