State College and Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy pulled off several place-winning performances Saturday during the Kevin Dare Invitational at Penn State.
Kellin Valentine was State College’s lone individual winner after placing first in the long jump with a top jump of 22 feet, 2 1/2 inches. Valentine also placed fourth in the triple jump.
The Little Lion relay teams all finished in the meet’s top 10. The 4x800-meter team of Anthony Degleris, Nick Feffer, Eric Heatwole and Alex Milligan finished first in 8:05.64, as the 4x200 and 4x400 teams finished sixth and 10th, respectively.
Other State College standouts included Alex Milligan (sixth, 1 mile), Matthew Beyerle (fifth, 3,000), Griffin Thompson (second, pole vault), Lucas Gray (fourth, pole vault) and Erik Ebel (third, shot put).

Brian Hackman led St. Joes’ with a ninth-place finish in the mile and was part of the 14th-place 4x800 team along with Michael Peters, Eli Urban and Andy Rogan. Urban also finished 19th in the 3,000 meter run.
