Wrestler Brock Port is a Centre Daily Times Athlete of the Week.
Port, who will be a sophomore at Bellefonte High School this fall, competed at 138 pounds for Team Pennsylvania at the Cadet Freestyle National Wrestling Tournament in Fargo, N.D.
Port dropped his opening match 8-7, but rallied for six consecutive victories. Five of those wins came in dominating fashion as Port secured one pin and four technical falls. He also decisioned Greco-Roman All-American Hunter Bolen of Virginia 7-6.
He tied Adrian Ojeda of Nevada 4-4 in his final match, but Ojeda was awarded the win on criteria of last point scored. Port had a takedown awarded by the referee in the match, but it was waved off by the mat judge.
