BELGRADE, Serbia — Talor Battle scored a game-high 17 points Tuesday to lead Team USA to a 68-66 win over host Serbia at the World University Games.
The Penn State point guard was 7-of-12 from the field, 3-of-6 from 3-point range and scored his team’s final six points on a pair of 3-pointers in the final three minutes.
Team USA (4-0), which also got 12 points from West Virginia’s DeSean Butler, will face Bulgaria (3-1) in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Seven Lions honored
Seven Penn State swimmers have been named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans as recently announced by CollegeSwimming.com.
Basil Kaaki and Vincent Reydams on the men’s side and Kelly Nelson from the women’s squad were named All-Americans while Chris Sullivan, Sarah Baker, Caitlin Meehan, and Boalsburg’s Michele Myers received Honorable Mention accolades.
