Nittany Lions add defensive back

- From CDT staff reports

The Penn State football team received an oral commitment from its fifth defensive back recruit this spring when Stephon Morris announced his decision to the Nittany Lion coaching staff Saturday.

Morris plays at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, Md. He is the second player from Derrick Williams’ alma mater to commit to the Nittany Lions this fall.

The other defensive back recruits that will be joining Morris in 2009 are Derrick Thomas, Darrell Givens, Malcolm Willis and Stephen Obeng-Agyapong. Thomas and Morris both attended Eleanor Roosevelt. Morris chose the Nittany Lions over Illinois, Louisville and Rutgers. Morris is now the ninth recruit to give an oral commitment to Penn State.
