Good Life

A New Season Begins

The leaves are turning

their dancing in the wind,

floating softly to the ground

a new season begins.

The birds are flying south

to seek shelter where it's warm,

other creatures will hibernate

as they avoid the harsh winter storms.

The air grows chilly

as the leaves start to turn,

the animals gather food

as survival insticts return.

The nights grow longer

Indian summer will soon end,

there's frost on the pumpkin

another season descends.

a new carpet of orange red and yellow

now covers the forest floor,

like Grandma's Persian rug

with all it's colors galore.

Two lovers walk along a path

the leaves crunch beneath their feet,

they stop to share a kiss

both their hearts skip a beat.
