Helping Hands | Clinic serves community with answers to tough questions

The staff at Pregnancy Resource Clinic know what it is like to be in a tough spot and how it feels to ask tough questions like “I’m pregnant, now what?” or “How am I going to finish school and be a parent? I’m not ready for this!” or “I think I have an STD. Where do I go for testing and treatment?” At PRC, we help our clients answer these tough questions by listening, caring, and offering services that help them make informed choices such as pregnancy tests, an ultrasound and options education.

A public health program through the Department of Health that is offered at Pregnancy Resource Clinic is free and confidential STD screening and treatment for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Walk-in appointments are welcome, but a scheduled appointment is preferred. Our clients also can access assistance through our Earn While You Learn Program, which helps new parents provide necessary items for their children. Our support group, Pregnancy and Parenting Connections, meets on a weekly basis to provide education, friendship and community support by bringing in outside educators through collaborating agencies.

PRC services are provided by certified, experienced and caring registered nurses who work in collaboration with our medical director. Our client advocates and trained staff provide the emotional and educational support our clients need during their appointments, and can provide our clients a proof of pregnancy needed in order to obtain WIC and medical assistance.

Pregnancy Resource Clinic is a nonprofit organization and has thrived well due to the generous support by our community of volunteers and donors. Since 1984, PRC has served the community in a variety of ways because we believe that people matter. By providing our clients community-supported services, they can make choices regarding their futures with wisdom, clarity and the information they need in times of uncertainty.
