First Sunday

Bellefonte Art Museum for Centre County, 133 N. Allegheny St., Bellefonte, will feature a free children’s art activity taught by a local artist and the opening of a new exhibit, “Cartoon Art: Drawing on Imagination,” with cartoon demonstrations by EA Dunn and Seth Young, April 5 from 1-4 p.m.

Flashlight Easter egg hunt for teens

This egg hunt for those in grades 6-8 will be held April 1 at 8 p.m. at Millbrook Marsh. Meet at the Nature Center barn for games, food and music before the hunt. Don’t forget to take a flashlight. The event is free, but advance registration is required by Tuesday, March 31.

Easter egg hunt

Centre Region Parks and Recreation will hold its annual Easter Egg hunt on April 4 at 2 p.m. at Orchard Park, located at the corner of Bayberry and Blue Course drives. Prize baskets will be provided by the State College Rotary Club. The hunt will be divided into age groups: ages 3 and younger; ages 4 and 5; ages 6 and 7; and ages 8 and 9.

Earth Day birthday

Celebrate Earth Day at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center on April 12 from 2-5 p.m. Visit displays from local environmental organizations, enjoy children’s activities and crafts, food, games and more. The event is organized by Penn State recreation, parks and tourism management students as a class project.

Spring scavenger hunt

Families can work together to explore Millbrook Marsh for signs of spring on April 26 from 2-4 p.m. The eco-friendly scavenger hunt is free, but donations are appreciated.

Q: I have been divorced for 8 years and we have a 15 year old daughter. My daughter is supposed to see her father every other weekend, but she is very busy with volleyball and Leadership and has no free time. Her father is the bus driver on the bus she uses to get to school – he texts her during the ride, texts her after school, texts her before his weekend to check in to see if she would like to visit. My daughter is a polite child and so she talks to him, but it's just too much. How do you handle when a parent texts their child too much? What's good ex-etiquette?
