2 teens struck by vehicle in Philipsburg

Two girls were struck by a vehicle as they crossed a street Friday evening in Philipsburg.

Gary Page, assistant chief at Reliance Fire Company, said the two 13-year-olds were crossing near Curtis and Centre streets at about 7:20 p.m. when they were hit by an oncoming vehicle.

Page said one of the girls took the brunt of the impact and was taken by helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center.

The severity of their injuries and status are unknown.
