Gag order issued in Austin Scott case

The Centre County District Attorney’s Office successfully argued for a gag order prohibiting the attorneys on either side of the rape case against Penn State tailback Austin Scott from talking with the media.

The motion was granted Monday morning by Centre County President Judge Charles C. Brown Jr. The order prohibits Scott’s attorneys, the District Attorney’s Office, the alleged victim and Scott from speaking with the press.

Scott, 22, of Allentown, faces trial on charges of rape, sexual assault, indecent assault and simple assault stemming from allegations he attacked an acquaintance who went home with him in the early morning hours of Oct. 5.
