Lasagna dinner, silent auction to benefit homeless shelter

The Venture Club of Centre County and Soroptimist International and Venture Club of Centre County are holding a lasagna dinner and silent auction to benefit Housing Transitions Inc. of State College.

Funds raised from the dinner will help purchase new mattresses for the State College Homeless Shelter. In past years, funds raised from the dinner benefitted the Centre County Food Bank and Stormbreak Girls Group Home.

The dinner is from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on April 18 at the Park Forest Baptist Church, 3030 Carnegie Drive in State College. The Silent Auction ends at 6:30 p.m. Bidders do not need to be present to win.

The cost for dinner is $10, $5 for kids 10 and younger and free for kids 3 and under.

The lasagna dinner also includes salad, breadstick and dessert. Takeout is available.

Tickets are available until April 10 at the Clothes Mentor, 176 Rolling Ridge Drive in State College.
