State Rep. Mike Hanna, D-Lock Haven, is seeking a state disaster declaration for areas of Clinton County after heavy rains caused flooding last week.
“As you are likely aware, heavy rain and flash flooding on Thursday, June 27 caused extensive damage to Route 150 in Beech Creek Borough and Bald Eagle Township. Bridges, homes and roads washed away, while residences and businesses sustained heavy water damage, most of which do not have flood insurance to cover their unfortunate and costly damages,” Hanna wrote in a letter to Gov. Tom Corbett released Sunday.
A public meeting has been scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Beech Creek Borough Building, Hanna said, to address flooding concerns. He asked state emergency management and transportation officials to attend the meeting.
The storm also caused road closures and some flooding in parts of Centre County.
