A 71-year-old man was transported to UPMC Altoona late Monday night after a one-vehicle crash in Tyrone Township.
The Altoona man was traveling north on Arch Spring Road when he had a medical emergency causing him to drive off the roadway, police said.
Police said his vehicle then struck a fence and traveled “several hundred feet” in a field before coming to a rest.
The driver was not charged with any traffic violations. The man was taken to the hospital via ambulance around 11:30 p.m. Monday.
