Inclement weather postpones ‘Pool-O-Ween’

The eighth annual Pool-O-Ween event was canceled Wednesday night due to thunderstorms, but has been rescheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday night at the Park Forest Community Pool.

The annual event is part of Family Fun Nights at the community pool hosted by Centre Region Parks and Recreation.

Aquatic Director Todd Roth said the event is a way to celebrate Halloween at the pool before it closes for the season.

Kids are able to dress up and participate in numerous activities including a splash contest, a “spook dive,” and can win prizes, and usually attracts a couple hundred people, Roth said.

Roth added if the event is canceled tonight there will be no makeup date.

The next Family Fun Night is scheduled for Aug. 21 at the Park Forest pool, and it will be a “Dive-In Movie” featuring “Despicable Me.”
