Police: Teenage pedestrian injured when hit by car in Walker Township

A 17-year-old girl was struck by a car early Monday while walking on Zion Road in Walker Township, according to State Police at Rockview.

The girl, who has not been identified, was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center, police said. Her injuries were not known.

She was walking with a 14-year-old girl on Zion Road near Zion Back Road at 6:35 a.m., when a vehicle driven by a 28-year-old woman struck her, police said.

Neither the younger pedestrian nor the driver were identified by police. Police only noted that the driver was from Bellefonte and was traveling to work.

There was no indication of any other injuries.

State Police at Rockview are investigating the incident, but are asking anyone who witnessed the accident or saw the girls walking on the road before the crash to contact police at 355-7545.
