The Willowbank Building was evacuated Tuesday morning after the arrival of a suspicious package, but it was given an “all clear” before Penn State bomb squads arrived.
Administrator Tim Boyde said the decision was made to evacuate the building just after 8:30 a.m. when a poorly wrapped and heavily taped package arrived addressed to the Domestic Relations department. He said it also appeared to have fuses coming out it
“The appearance gave reason for concern,” he said, adding that the protocols were followed well and the evacuation went smoothly.
The package was ruled safe after contact was made with the sender, and it was confirmed to be a legitimate delivery.

Bellefonte Police said the package was addressed to a specific employee in the department and she didn’t recognize the name of the sender.
The issue was resolved at about 9:15 a.m., and everyone was allowed back into the building.
Boyde said the county will continue to investigate the way the situation was handled.
